Do I need the app to use these?
No — these amplifiers work straight out of the box without any app. The GM Hearing app is optional and adds personalisation features like a custom hearing profile and fine-tuned sound settings. Many customers use them without the app and are very happy with the results.
What phones are compatible with the app?
The GM Hearing app works with iPhones running iOS 13 or later, and Android phones running Android 12 or later. It's free to download from the App Store and Google Play.
What does the in-app hearing test do?
The hearing test takes around 3–5 minutes and identifies which frequencies you find harder to hear. The app then automatically adjusts your amplifier settings to compensate — giving you a more personalised listening experience than a standard amplifier.
Can I stream audio from my TV or phone?
Yes. These amplifiers support Bluetooth audio streaming from your phone, tablet, or Bluetooth-enabled TV. No separate earphones or adapters needed.
Is this a medical hearing aid?
No. This is a personal sound amplifier (PSAP) designed to enhance hearing in everyday situations. It is not a medical device and does not require a prescription. If you have significant hearing loss, we recommend consulting an audiologist.
